A certain restaurant has exactly 19 tables. Some of those tables are larger tables that can seat 6 people each and others are smaller tables that can seat 4 people each. If a total of 90 people can be seated at this restaurant, how many of the tables must be of the larger kind?

X can do a piece of work in 25 days and Y can do the same work in 20 days. They work together for 5 days and then X goes away. In how many days will Y finish the remaining work?

The distance between two cities A & B is 330 kms. A starts from A at 8 a.m. and travels towards B at 60 km/hr. Another train starts from B at 9 a.m. and travels towards A at 75 km/hr. At what time do they meet?

9) Puzzle of the Day - 14th June 2019.

The total value of a collection of coins of denominations Re.1, 50 paise, 25 paise, 10 paise and 5 paise is Rs.380/-. If the number of coins of each denomination is the same, then the number of one-rupee coins is how much?


7) Puzzle of the Day - 10th June 2019.

Of the four numbers, the average of the first three is 24 and that of the last three is 34.
If the last number is 48, what is the first number?


6) Puzzle of the Day - 7th June 2019.

Here are three separate challenges. Your task is to insert the four different mathematical operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication & division) between the boxes in each equation in such a way that the final outcome is one thousand. You must perform each mathematical operation from Left to Right.

5) Puzzle of the Day - 1st June 2019.

My uncle Khurana has two pets namely Aishwarya (a beautiful cat) and Brunu (a dangerous dog). When we reached his home, he told us that he is going to tell us the story of his pets, but in the language of numbers and if you are able to understand what I meant by that number, then I will believe that I have intelligent nephews.

He said '816321' which means 'the brown dog frightened the cat', '64851' means 'the frightened cat ran away'. '7621' means 'the cat was brown' and '341' means 'the dog ran'.

Then, he say now, tell me what will I say for 'the dog was frightened'?




4) Puzzle of the Day - 31st May 2019.

Three Goddesses were sitting in an old India Temple. Their names were Truth (always telling the truth), Lie (always lying) and Wisdom (sometimes lying).

A visitor asked the one on the left, "Who is sitting next to you?"

"Truth", she answered.

Then he asked the one in the middle, "Who are you?"

"Wisdom", she answered.

Lastly he asked the one on the right, "Who is your neighbour?"

"Lie", she answered.

Then it became clear as to Who is Who.

Can you determine who is telling the truth? Please tell the name of all the three in the following sequence:
Left - ?
Middle - ?
Right - ?



3) Puzzle of the Day - 30th May 2019.

Before sleeping Ken realised that he had to complete a novel to be discussed in his English class the next day. So, he decided to read that novel. When he started to read the novel, the lights went off and it was around 2 in the night. Ken lighted 2 candles of equal length but one is thicker than the other. The thick candle is supposed to last six hours and the thin one three hours. When he finally went to sleep, the thick candle was twice as long as the thin one.

Can you determine how long did Ken read in candle light?



2) Puzzle of the Day - 29th May 2019.

In Delhi, there are three Bus routes: 1, 2 and 3 between Anand Vihar and Faridabad. Route 1 has intermediate stops at Badarpur and Dilshad Garden. Route 2 has stops at Chanakyapuri and Dilshad Garden. The shortest Route 3 with a length of 10 km stops at Chanakyapuri only, which is exactly in the middle of this route. The longest route has 3 km more length than the shortest one. The distance between Chanakyapuri and Dilshad Garden, Badarpur and Dilshad Garden, and Faridabad and Dilshad Garden are 4, 3 and 2 km respectively.

Can you determine what is the distance between Anand Vihar and Badarpur?





1) Puzzle of the Day - 28th May 2019.

Business is booming in the 'Sunset Vue' Bar, where the customers really enjoy the 'Make a Sum' game that barman and philosophy student Carlo sets up for them with coasters. Here's another chance to play. Carlo has laid out the number coasters as below and you have to make a working sum by inserting the four mathematical symbols (+ , - , x , ÷ ) between the coasters shown. The symbols can be in any order.
